MTB Avon

MTB Avon is born out of the desire to give something back to cycling, over the years it has given me and my wife much enjoyment and allowed us to appreciate the country side around Bristol and Bristol it's self.

We hope this site will help others to get out and enjoy themselves.

For the majority of cyclists Bristol and the surrounding area is a safe place to cycle, most of the motorists are 'Cyclist Aware'.

There are cycle lanes covering the city and if you wish to go further there is the excellent Bristol to Bath Cycle Path.

There are cycle routes all around Bristol, the majority of these routes have been planned and sign posted by Sustrans, if you require route maps of Bristol or any where in the United Kingdom then they are the people to contact, if they do not have the information they will know some one who does.

There are numerous watering holes in the area and we will endevour to bring as many as we can to your attention.

Cycling clubs are well represented, there are three large road clubs that can provide you with companionship or competition. There are probably a few more smaller clubs, if you are a member of such a club why not contact me with your details and I will publish them on this site.
